Executive Leadership
Vrushab Gowda MD, JD
Vrushab has spent a number of years active in both research and operational dimensions of healthcare strategy. He leverages experience from his time at the FDA, the Petrie-Flom Center, a Y Combinator-backed high-growth startup, and a leading international law firm. Vrushab received his MD at the University of North Carolina and his JD from Harvard Law School.
Glen Cheng MD, JD, MPH
Glen is a veteran of the Cambridge and Pittsburgh innovation communities, having worked with a clinical analytics startup, venture capital firm, and life sciences incubator while a medical resident at Harvard. He previously served as a regulatory counsel with the FDA, intellectual property attorney at two global law firms, and clerk to two federal judges. Glen obtained his MD and JD from Rutgers and his MPH from Harvard.

Ryan Kashtan JD
Ryan brings expertise on business and regulatory issues surrounding innovation and early stage companies. In addition, Ryan has experience working for three of the world’s leading international law firms, as well as a small healthcare-focused government affairs firm in Washington, D.C. Ryan received his BA from Duke University, where he studied Public Policy, and his JD from Harvard Law School.
John Crowley MBA, MPP
John merges deep private sector experience with a firm grounding in public service. Also an Afghanistan combat veteran, he brings insights from his time with Goldman Sachs, McKinsey, Blackstone, and a high-growth health tech startup. John is a graduate of West Point and received his MBA and MPP from Harvard, where he was a Presidential Scholar and Rubenstein Fellow.
Charan Mohan MD
Charan Mohan is currently a urologic surgery resident at Northwell Health, the largest healthcare provider in New York. As a medical student, he worked as a strategy consultant with the UNC STAR program, developing a digital health strategy for a multinational biosciences company. Charan holds degrees from North Carolina State University and the University of North Carolina School of Medicine.
Tendai Kwaramba MD, MS
Tendai is a hematology-oncology fellow at Yale. She combines an extensive background in epidemiological research, women’s health, and international medical initiatives, having spearheaded grant-funded projects in Brazil, Tanzania, and elsewhere. Tendai obtained her MSc in Global Health at Duke, received her MD at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and completed an internal medicine residency at Tulane.
Ernest Lai MD
Ernest is a pediatric critical care fellow at UC Irvine. He has prior experience in laboratory, translational, and clinical research settings, having studied somatic recombination during B cell maturation and evaluated mobile app-based EKGs in assessing heart rate in concussed athletes. Ernest graduated from Berkeley, earned his MD from the University of North Carolina, and completed a pediatrics residency at UCSF.
Jude Raj
Jude Raj is pursuing a joint MD/PhD program at Duke under the NIH-funded Medical Scientist Training Program. Through his training at Yale and UNC Charlotte, he calls upon over 5 years of research experience across molecular biology, cancer biology, and immunology. He aims to advance the medical field by transforming cutting-edge biomedical research into therapeutic breakthroughs.
Sotiris Demosthenous MBBS
Sotiris is a Oxford Deanery-trained general practitioner. He has a deep interest in mobile and web-based adjuncts to preventive medicine, primary care, and urgent care delivery, particularly in low-resource settings. Sotiris completed his medical degree at St. George’s, University of London (UK) and pursued postgraduate training at the Charing Cross Hospital, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.
Victor van de Wiele LLB, LLM
Victor brings extensive knowledge of the regulatory environment on both sides of the Atlantic. Most recently, he was a researcher at Harvard Medical School where he studied regulatory exclusivities and drug market competition. Victor received his law degree from Queen Mary, University of London (UK) and earned both an LLM in Global Health Law as well as a Food & Drug Law Certificate from Georgetown.
Kik Lee
Kik is an experienced business development specialist with multiple startup experiences. He has co-founded and spearheaded business strategy and operations at a gig-based groceries delivery startup as well as an AI-based anti-counterfeiting startup. He also has expertise in legal aspects of venture financing, which he sharpened as he completes his JD at Harvard Law School.

Shelly Xu
Shelly Xu (ex-McKinsey, ex-Instagram, ex-Prada) is the founder and CEO of Shelly Xu Design (SXD), the first fashion-tech brand to make beautiful, accessible, 100% zero-waste clothing. SXD has showcased at all major fashion shows around the world, including Milan Fashion Week, and was a finalist at the Harvard President's Innovation Challenge. Shelly is a summa cum laude graduate of Columbia and is currently at Harvard Business School.
Eddie Liu
Eddie is a serial entrepreneur active in the digital health space. He founded UpLift Health and MoodTools, award-winning platforms that offer mobile mental health programs for depression, anxiety, and a number of other mood disorders. Together, his companies have helped over 2 million people across the globe. Eddie graduated from Duke and is completing his medical training at the University of North Carolina.
Aparna Atluru MD, MBA
Aparna leads clinical and scientific strategy at Marvin, a newco in digital mental health. She is a practicing psychiatrist, board certified in both pediatric and adult psychiatry. Aparna also holds an MBA from Harvard Business School. She has served as a clinical advisor for several start-ups in behavioral health and advised leading academics on how to commercialize their research.
